The Impresario

In August 2012 the Melos Sinfonia undertook its first opera project – a new English production of Mozart’s comic opera The Impresario (Der Schauspieldirektor) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With a a new script written by then President of the Cambridge Footlights and award-winning playwright/comic, Harry Michell, The Impresario tracks the fortunes of a struggling opera house and its hapless impresario, Frank, in his attempts to attract the biggest name to his stage.
